How would you like to dive from a fifty foot perch into a four foot crash mat...or...eat fire while walking on a high wire...or...be shot from a cannon...or...swing from your heels on a flying trapeze...or...be in a center ring with 54 hungry tigers?

If you would, then come aboard the first train you can catch to the Barnum & Baily's circus school!

Here at CIRKIDS, you will not be a lion tamer, nor will you be shot out of a cannon.

Then what kind of a circus is

CIRKIDS?

It is a circle for kids to invent, create, nurture and develop a talent that is unique to their individual aptitudes and abilities.

Let's say your 7-year-old daughter wants to learn how to juggle three balls.  But, try and try as she may, she just can't get it together.  Our approach is to encourage her to do the best she can do with one ball (tossing, catching, bouncing, etc.).  Once she has mastered the fundamentals of manipulating the ball, the next step will be to put these new skills into performance attitude.

Choreography, music, and theatre are essential at CIRKIDSAdd these essential elements to newly acquired technical skills encourage the artists to grow and develop at their own pace.  The emphasis is "not what you do, but how you do it."  How to present a skill is paramount to an artists' success as a performer.

An artist who manipulates one ball with a touch of wonderment can be more interesting to watch on stage than a circus performer who juggles 3 balls and performs plainly.  This is where attitude comes in.  Having an attitude is simply knowing how to draw upon ones theatrical techniques or, as we like to put it; being able to create lighting for the spectator.

Says instructor, Frisco Canyon:

"While learning circus-act disciplines, I will take the kids on an enjoyable and compelling ride through the fundamentals of stage presence;

FRISCO CANYON is an innovator in the field of Theatrical Acrobatics and is an expert in the activity of trampoline.  A two-time Canadian Amateur Champion, a World Professional Champion, and a world record holder in trampoline has earned Frisco recognition far and wide for his uncanny abilities of spatial awareness.  He is a performance artist who captivates his audience by blending high-level athleticism with stage performance attitude.

He started his professional career in 1976, doing school assembly programs.  As his performing skills developed, he went on to do variety shows, exhibitions, fairs, half-time NBA, and in 1993, joined the troupe maison in Cirque du Soleil's "Mystere" here in Las Vegas.

He competed in trampoline competitions and won consecutive national titles in 1974 and 1975.  He is the first person to ever do a four and three-quarter front somersault on a trampoline; a record he set in 1980, which still holds to date.

He will take the student through an arousing and stimulating curriculum filled with a myriad of disciplines, skills and theatre games designed to promote a New Age Circus performance styles.

Balance, Rhythm, Energy, Behavior & Training

I believe that developing a presence (or, stage attitude) lends itself to confidence in movement.  Confidence in movement builds confidence in creating new skills and having new skills added to ones overall presence, both on and off, stage. The student does not have to be an expert at anything, only to be in touch with self-discipline.   Steering the artists toward releasing their own personality is a vital element at CIRKIDS."
