Jake Bass
Gymnastics Program Instructor
Jake
Bass is a USA-G Safety
Certified Coach who has been
teaching gymnastics at the
Academy for 6 years. Jake
has a great passion for
teaching, and is well
rounded in all aspects of
gymnastics training. Early
on in his coaching career,
he recognized the need for a
program that would focus on
the essential basics of
tumbling. Some students,
such as cheerleaders, need
specific training for skills
such as the standing
back-hand-spring, the
round-off-back-hand-spring,
and the
full-twisting-back-flip.
Jake developed a class to
focus directly on building
these skills for students
who wish to quickly and
safely master basic
tumbling. The class program
is comprised of a regiment
of highly effective drills
that enable the student to
quickly and safely learn the
art of flipping. With an
emphasis on conditioning,
the students gain the
strength they need to
perform the tricks with the
least risk of injury. The
program has had a very high
success rate and is highly
recommended for all
students, beginner to
advanced, and especially
cheerleaders who need to
master that all important
round-off-back-hand-spring.
Jake is a consummate athlete
and accomplished acrobat,
and can perform the tricks
he teaches so the student
can learn by example. Jake
has performed live on stage,
film and video, and is also
trained in various styles of
martial arts including
Jujutsu and Kung Fu. Jake
is available for private
lessons which can be
scheduled through the front
office of the gym.
